## Description

Zayne's 2026 birthday event, titled 'When Embers Rise', launched August 31, 2026. The story depicts Zayne in a combat medic role on the frontline — the opening line is 'Wake up. Can you hear me?' — a departure from his usual chief surgeon characterisation. A Facebook community discussion identified Valko (the cancelled sixth love interest) appearing at the 0:35 mark of the event trailer as a radio dispatcher. This cameo is particularly significant given the ongoing Valko cancellation boycott during the event's release window. The event includes a birthday cake preparation mini-game and a birthday video call available September 5–7 (Zayne's in-universe birthday is September 5). A real-world collaboration with Shanghai Hong Ying Rescue titled 'As Embers Settle' ran concurrently, themed around emergency rescue to match the combat medic narrative.
