Aboard the Traceback II on Day 1326 of the time-travel expedition, the ship's slipspace anchor breaks. It crosses the event horizon uncontrolled, overshooting the targeted era by roughly 214 years. (The 200-year figure sometimes cited in fan summaries is the mourning interval on Philos, not the overshoot.) The crash is strongly implied to be sabotage by Isaiah, a Backtracker who would later defect to EVER. The ruined Traceback II comes to rest in what will eventually be designated No-Hunt Zone 42 on Earth. Xavier has been on Earth, waiting for MC to be reborn, ever since.
