LAR 02-04 'The First Deal': MC works out that Sylus's Aether Core is in his right eye, which glows when he uses his Evol. He confirms it. She proposes a deal: Sylus helps her recover a second Aether Core fragment at the Solon Hotel auction; she helps him clean up Onychinus's internal traitors (Sherman's faction, which has been trying to seize the Aether Core for itself). LAR 02-06 'Agreement': Sylus converts the deal negotiation into a test — she has 24 hours to steal a jewel-encrusted crow brooch from him. Under the hazy light, the script notes: 'Sylus reveals a gentle look completely uncharacteristic of him.' When MC damages Mephisto during this sequence, Sylus calmly reassembles him. The Spacepedia sub-entry on Sylus's Eye is unlocked in this chapter, confirming the Aether Core in his right eye and that it allows him to see desires. His Evol can also regenerate him on the spot from a gunshot wound to the heart — he shoots himself to demonstrate.
