The wiki text at this point directly raises the question of whether he was the same person who rescued her from that lab in 2034 — turning what was originally an allegorical Shadowed Past sequence into an on-screen narrative confirmation. The earlier editorial hedge — 'allegory, not literal flashback' — is outdated after this chapter. The rescue is now canon.
