## Description

The 2034 Chronorift Catastrophe is the single most consequential historical event in the Love and Deepspace setting. The Deepspace Tunnel — a space-time rift — tears open above Linkon City, releasing a massive surge of Wanderers into the civilian population. Thousands of people are killed. Key character beats: Xavier, masked as Lumiere, becomes the first person ever recorded killing a Wanderer and saves a seven-year-old MC; Zayne, age 13, encounters a young MC crying alone at the hospital — in the same event, she is attacked by a Wanderer and Protocore fragments become lodged in her heart, creating the cardiac condition that drives his entire medical career; Caleb is a child in Linkon during this period; Rafayel arrives on Earth around 2034 (the timing is approximate); Josephine (MC's grandmother) is active as a member of the Gaia Research Center's Unicorn team. The Catastrophe is the origin point of modern Hunter culture, the Hunters Association, and the world's understanding of Wanderers. It is referenced in every character's backstory.
