Set in a far-future life where the sea has entirely dried into a vast desert, this is Rafayel's first Myth in release order (Abysswalker identity). MC is the princess of a desert kingdom, kept isolated by suitors and political handlers. Rafayel is an assassin who was originally gifted to her as a slave when she was a child — she freed him, and he gave her a red Flammula in return. As adults he visits her secretly. Elder Lemurian Amund pressures him to kill her and take her heart to revive Lemuria; he refuses. On the night of a masquerade ball where she is expected to choose a suitor, she elopes with him — her handmaid Natasha takes her place. He leads her to the resting place of the Tome of the Sea God. They open it together and their past-life memories flood back. MC realises giving his heart back to him would let the sea return and Lemuria rise; she decides to order him to take her heart, knowing the covenant will compel him. Before she can, he wipes her memories and returns her to the palace. She lives with a persistent nagging sense of forgetting something. She eventually remembers everything, escapes, and runs to him. They set out together for Whalefall City — the final resting place of every Lemurian soul.
