In a second mythic past life told through the Tender Moments side-story, MC is the Witch of the Abyss, attended by a blue and a red Flammula as familiars. Rafayel comes to her requesting a transformation potion to become human, claiming he has fallen for a human woman. The potion's ingredients are: a gem that always shines like the moon (he gives one of his own scales), a stream that never wanes (his own blood), and a voice that can sway the tide (a song from his flute played for the woman). He drains his blood, removes a scale, and faints from the cost. When the Witch prepares the potion on a seashell boat and brings it to him to drink, he instead has her inhale the vapours. She attempts to counter-spell. He drags her ashore as her memories begin to return — she is the woman he loved. He dissolves into sea foam in her place, sacrificing himself so she remains.
