MC wakes inside Lemuria, expected to honour her oath, and tries to flee. Rafayel intercepts her and reveals he also wants to escape to the surface world — they sneak up together to a Sea God festival held on her own home island in her 'honour.' He is disgusted by humans' idol-worship of the Sea God figure. When MC is falsely accused of theft, Rafayel scatters pearls from his own tears into the crowd as a distraction, pulls her to a cliff, kisses her so she can breathe underwater, and leaps into the sea with her. He then walks with her on the water's surface — the first sign of his Sea God power.
