## Description

An insurance company delivers a box of Caleb's personal effects to MC — a procedural consequence of the death certificate. Inside the box is a childhood toy gun he had given her at some point; it was bought with his own high-school summer-job money from a second-hand shop. The scene is a collision of the bureaucratic machinery of his death with the personal history that preceded it. It mirrors the apple necklace found in the rubble: objects that outlasted the official account of what happened to him.
