## Description

The central off-page event that separates Caleb's past and present arcs. Confirmed as canonical main-story lore in Deepspace Chapter 4-04 (an explosion at 502 Sunset Street, Bloomshore District, classified as an accident in a Hunters Association confidential file; 2 dead) and in Homecoming Wings 01-01 (which confirms EVER as the mastermind). The incident: EVER, seeking access to MC's Aether Core, engineers the explosion. It kills Josephine — MC's grandmother, confirmed killed by Isaiah (Xavier's defected Backtracker) in World Underneath: Sealed in Dust. Caleb is gravely injured. An unknown party rescues him and modifies his damaged right arm (see caleb-cyborg-arm-reveal). MC is presented with an official death certificate and is forced to accept his death. The apple dog tag necklace she had given him is found in the Bloomshore rubble. EVER's motive links to the broader Light Evolver collection scheme; Philos loyalists still want MC back. Caleb and Josephine's fates are part of the same engineered event chain.
