The incident: EVER, seeking access to MC's Aether Core, engineers the explosion. It kills Josephine — MC's grandmother, confirmed killed by Isaiah (Xavier's defected Backtracker) in World Underneath: Sealed in Dust. Caleb is gravely injured.
